Laura is a paralegal in the Litigation Department supporting the immigration and employment law practice groups in our Charlotte Office. For more than eight years, she has worked in the field of immigration law. Prior to joining the firm in 2000, Laura was an immigration paralegal with the New Jersey office of a national immigration law firm.
Representative Matters
Consults with corporate clients regarding case analysis including planning and determining visa options for employers in the following industries: information technology, manufacturing, research and development, production, marketing, and distribution, procurement services, and integrated supply chain management.
Prepares and files petitions with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly Immigration & Naturalization Service) for all non-immigrant employment visa classifications (including H, L, E, and TN) and for prospective permanent residents among the various employment-based and family-based immigrant visa categories.
Assists clients in maintaining compliance with Department of Labor Condition Application (LCA) regulations, including the preparation of Public and Non-Public Access Files.
Assists clients in connection with obtaining naturalized citizenship status.
Case management regarding monitoring expirations of non-immigrant status, monitoring of extension applications, and case flow of permanent residence status applications.
Conducts legal research regarding complex, case-specific immigration issues.
Liaises with U.S. immigration and consular officials.
