Laura is a member of the intellectual property practice group at Duckor Spradling Metzger & Wynne. Her professional practice has focused on patent, trademark, and copyright law. She is a member of the California bar and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Laura graduated from California Western School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree, where she received an Academic Achievement Scholarship and was a member of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. She obtained a Bachelor of Science with honors in genetics and a Master of Science in physiology from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Laura’s technical experience includes working as a molecular biologist for seven years. During this time she worked at The Scripps Research Institute, a leading research organization, as well as for local biotechnology companies.
Laura is a member of the American Bar Association, California Bar Association, California Bar Intellectual Property Section, San Diego County Bar Association, American Intellectual Property Law Association, San Diego Intellectual Property Law Association, American Chemical Society, and the Association for Women in Science (national and San Diego chapters).
