Laura Garner joined Grail in September 2007, and focuses on marketing and investor relations. Laura has spent 25 years working in alternative and traditional investments, capital markets, and banking. Before joining Grail, Laura served as a consultant at Clearbook Advisors, an alternative investment advisor, and Concept Capital where she consulted on fund formation and raised assets for alternative investment managers. Her prior experience includes serving as Global Marketing Director for Citigroup Alternative Investment Strategies, Global Marketing Director for Merrill Lynch Debt Markets, U.S. Marketing Director for Goldman Sachs Investment Management, Head of Research, Planning and Analysis at Chase Manhattan Bank and Chief Marketing Officer for the Internet Partnership Group. Her responsibilities have spanned marketing strategy and execution, product structuring and distribution management, client service and investor communications. Laura began her career in the early 1980s as an analyst in Merrill Lynch's Mortgage Finance Group, where she was part of a team that structured some of the first collateralized mortgage obligation transactions in the industry. Later, at Citigroup Alternative Investment Strategies, she built the marketing platform and launched several hedge fund-of-funds, the first private equity fund-of-funds, the first leveraged loan fund, and numerous structured products which grew to $29 billion in assets. Laura currently serves as a director for Milestone Capital Management. Laura received her MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Anderson School at UCLA and her BA in English from the University of Virginia. Additionally, she completed the Executive Education Program in Marketing Strategy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. |
