Larry milks 85 registered Holsteins, farms more than 1,000 acres and operates an independent farrow-to-finish swine operation with his wife and mother. He is a member of the DFA Fluid Marketing and Public Policy Committee and secretary of the Central Area Council Region II. Larry also is active outside of DFA and serves as treasurer of the Iowa Division Midwest Dairy Association and chairman of the ADA of the Midwest. He also was a founder and is currently a Board Director of the Northeast Iowa Dairy Foundation. He is an Iowa Distinguished Dairyman and Iowa State University Dairy Science Club Honorary Member and a member on the Midwest Dairy Association Board. He’s been honored with 4-H Meritorious Service Award and the FFA Honorary Chapter Farmer Award. Larry also is a Conservation Farm honoree and was the recipient of the Delaware County Dairy Council Distinguished Service Award. |
