Mr. Mitchum has over 30 years experience in the health insurance and managed care industry. In less than one year, Mr. Mitchum has brought WellCare’s Louisiana operations from a mere concept to a thriving Medicare health plan with over 1,000 members. Prior to joining WellCare, Mr. Mitchum was CEO of Humana Health Plans, Tampa Market leading an expansion effort along the West Coast of Florida. This expansion created a market in excess of $800,000,000 in revenues. Previous to Humana, Mr. Mitchum was CEO of Community Health Network of LA, a physician owned health plan. With Mr. Mitchum’s leadership, the Company expanded from a 7 Parish Service Area to 47 Parishes throughout Louisiana over a 5 year period and their Medicare Advantage product grew to 20,000 members in 18 months. Mr. Mitchum received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. |
