Dr. Ereshefsky joined CCT in September 2003. As Executive Vice-President and Chief Scientific Officer, he has scientific and clinical leadership responsibilities, including program direction and the provision of psychopharmacological expertise, in support of our 35-bed early drug development unit and Phase II-IV operations. Additionally, he plays a key role in business development. Clinical responsibilities include consultation and evaluation of study patients and, in collaboration with the medical director, provides oversight of the medical staff. He serves as Principal Investigator, and has a successful track record of more than 110 funded studies over the past 26 years. Dr. Ereshefsky is widely known for his research design expertise and provides consultation to the pharmaceutical industry, academia, and to the NIH. He is also an internationally renowned educator and speaker in the field of psychopharmacology and pharmacogenetics. Dr. Ereshefsky holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio. Prior to CCT, he was at the University of Texas for 26 years, where he held the Regentıs Professorship in Pharmacy and Directed the Psychopharm Program, was Associate Director, Clinical Research, San Antonio State Hospital, where he co-directed a pharmacogenetics/kinetics Lab. He has authored over 130 scientific manuscripts, book chapters, and computer programs. He has served twice on the FDA Psychopharmacological Drugs Advisory Committee and continues on the USP Psychiatry Committee. Dr. Ereshefsky has been the recipient of numerous competitive Research Awards from Private and Public Institutes and Foundations. He serves on Editorial Boards and NIMH grant review panels, as well as in several elected leadership positions in professional societies. Dr. Ereshefsky is currently President of the College of Psychiatric and Neurological Pharmacists. Dr. Ereshefsky attended UCLA as a psychobiology major, where he conducted research on an Atomic Energy Commission grant. He completed his Pharm.D. at the University of Southern California, and in 1977 a specialty practice residency in psychiatric pharmacy from LA County-USC Medical Center. He is an elected Fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and is Board Certified in Psychiatric Pharmacy. |
