Larry Davis is the Vice President of Airspace Products at Dimensions International, Inc. (DI). Mr. Davis heads up DI’s Airspace Products, where products related to air traffic control are developed for sale to both government and civil sectors.
In his 15+ years of service at DI, Mr. Davis has been responsible for the development of several products that have created more than $30 million in DI revenue.
Among those products is RADAR! The Radar Analysis Display and Recording System. RADAR! was initially developed in 1991 and has been the basis of a number of subsequent systems. RADAR! Provides the interface to most FAA radars and a real-time display and performance analysis capability. RADAR! also allows recording, playback and off-line performance analysis capabilities.
The Arts Collection and Editing System (ACES), is another product developed under Mr. Davis’ direction. ACES is an interface to Air Traffic Control computer systems and radars that collects all relevant data on flight tracks and related flight plan data. The information is then correlated, stored for several days, filtered to meet FAA security requirements and then automatically forwarded to customers outside the FAA.
Mr. Davis also was instrumental in the development of TAIU The Terminal Automation Interface Unit an $18 million FAA job that combines RADAR!, ACES and newly developed software to track aircraft arrivals at airports and accurately predict the arrival runway. This is DI’s first FAA National Airspace System development.
Mr. Davis’ division has recently launched our latest product, a 1030/1090Mhz receiver decoder for the analysis of the aircraft interrogator/transponder environment. This also includes Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), the emerging technology that will revolutionize air traffic control. DI has a contract with the FAA to monitor ADS-B usage across the country.
Mr. Davis is a retired Air Force Reserve Officer and is a recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. He has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech, and an M.S. in Management from Troy State University. He is a commercial/instrument rated pilot. |
