As corporate vice president of Microsoft’s Corporate Communications group, Larry Cohen is responsible for the company’s global communications planning and execution, executive communications and employee communications. Cohen has 17 years experience in technology marketing and product management.
Cohen joined Microsoft in 1995 to manage the marketing and business development efforts for The Microsoft Network (MSN), and led the development efforts behind MSN’s first customized web service. Cohen also led overall business strategy development and marketing for the introduction of the MSN service into Japan. Additionally, Cohen served as a Director in the consumer online services group, driving the overall product strategy, marketing program management and business development for the MSN HomeAdvisor web service. In 1999, Cohen founded and served as General Manager of Microsoft’s Silicon Valley business relations group, which managed Microsoft’s activities with leading Valley venture capital firms and startups.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Cohen spent four years at Apple Computer’s software division as a product line manager and led their efforts in technology and content acquisitions. Cohen also served as the product marketing director at Collabra Software, which was acquired by Netscape Communications Corp.
