Larry Blackerby was named vice president and general manager of KPRC, Post-Newsweek Stations’ NBC affiliate in Houston, in February 2006. Prior to joining KPRC, he was vice president and general manager of WJXT-TV, Post-Newsweek's independent station in Jacksonville, FL, a position he had held since September 2003.
Previously, Blackerby served as vice president and general manager of KMIR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Palm Springs, CA; general manager of WJTV, the CBS affiliate in Jackson, MS; and vice president of broadcasting at WGHP-TV, the ABC affiliate in Greensboro, NC. Other experience includes program director at KOLR-TV in Springfield, MO, and program and operations manager at WBAK-TV in Terre Haute, IN.
Blackerby is an Illinois native and holds a BS in radio, television and film from Indiana State University.
Blackerby and his wife have one daughter. |
