Mr. Barela plays an important and strategic leadership role at Catalyst. He is responsible for shaping the technology vision and for driving the innovation that continuouly enhances customer value. Mr. Barela has held leadership positions in the legal and computer technology industry for more than a decade. Prior to joining Catalyst, he was the Director of Information Technology for Holland & Hart, LLP where he played a key role in making Holland & Hart one of the top technology firms in the country. As IT Director, Mr. Barela supervised a group of 20 technicians managing more than 500 users, located in 11 offices across the Rocky Mountains and Washington, D.C. In 1995 and 1996, he led a team of programmers in developing data-driven intranet and later, extranet technology. The team built award-winning applications, including systems for firm-wide electronic docketing (both litigation and patent), library card catalogs, records management, online computer support, and accounting system access. He was responsible for an initiative that converted a million-page WordPerfect document repository into a searchable, Web-based knowledge management system. Most of the time you’ll find Larry behind a computer, but when he’s not, you’ll find him spending time with his two young children and enjoying the great Colorado outdoors. |
