Mr. Alston brings nearly 20 years of product marketing, product management and marketing communications experience to his role as Vice President of Marketing at IONA. In this position, he relies on his seasoned software industry leadership skills to define the future product and marketing strategy for the company.
During his career, Mr. Alston has held leadership positions with companies including Bachman Information Systems, C-bridge Internet Solutions, eXcelon Corporation (acquired by Progress Software) and most recently Pantero Corporation.
As Pantero's Vice President of Products, Mr. Alston was responsible for defining the company's product and marketing strategy, building the development team and successfully executing the go-to-market strategy.
In his role as a corporate officer and Executive Vice President of Product Management and Marketing at eXcelon Corporation, Mr. Alston helped take the company public, and was instrumental in developing the strategy and vision to bring the technology to new markets. His strategy and execution was directly responsible for growing the company's XML product division from $2 million to $20 million in just 18 months.
Mr. Alston holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of Massachusetts, and an MBA from Northeastern University. |
