Mr. Rinehart served PFF Bank & Trust for nearly three decades until his retirement in March 2006 and now continues his service as a Director of PFF Bancorp, Inc.
Mr. Rinehart was raised in the Inland Empire region of Southern California, having graduated from Pomona High School before entering the military. After a distinguished military career including Army Commendations for meritorious service, Mr. Rinehart received his bachelor’s degree in education from nearby University of La Verne.
He began at PFF in 1977 as an appraiser, moving up the corporate ranks serving as the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Officer, Manager of Secondary Mortgage Marketing, Assistant Chief Loan Officer and Retail Banking Administrator. During his years in banking, he attended the Institute of Financial Education (IFE) where he earned a Diploma of Merit. He continued his studies at USC (IFE Leadership School), University of Georgia (IFE School of Executive Development) and the University of Texas (IFE Graduate School of Financial Management).
During his career as President/CEO, PFF Bank & Trust emerged into one of the largest and successful community banks headquartered in the Inland Empire. In 1996, PFF converted to a publicly held institution and, in December 2001, joined the prestigious New York Stock Exchange.
Promoting a tradition of community service, Mr. Rinehart has held leadership positions in several prominent organizations, including Boy Scouts of America, Old Baldy Council Board Member/President; Cal Poly University, Educational Trust Board Member/Treasurer; University of La Verne, Board of Trustees; and the Los Angeles County Fair Association, Board of Directors.
Over the years, Mr. Rinehart has been acknowledged for his business leadership and community service, having received the University Presidential Award (University of La Verne, 1996), the Good Scout of the Year (Old Baldy Boy Scouts of America), a Golden Hands Award (Pomona Girls & Boys Club of Pomona, 2004) and the Mae Carvell Award for the Advancement of Women (Ventura Club - Inland Empire). |
