Cirjak leads Five Star’s research and development efforts in inorganic chemistry. Cirjak is an accomplished chemist with twenty-five years of industrial research and development experience. He has broad, hands-on experience in synthetic inorganic chemistry and hydrocarbon catalysis, as well as extensive experience and training in management of technology and Six Sigma. He has been granted 15 U.S. Patents. From 1999 to 2000, Cirjak served as a Senior Process Engineer, Quartz Metal Halide at GE Lighting where he was responsible for technical exchanges and qualification of a manufacturing plant with a joint venture partner. From 1980 to 1999, Cirjak held a variety of positions with BP Chemical Research & Development/ Standard Oil of Ohio, the most recent of which was Group Leader/ Research Scientist I where he was involved in the conception, planning and execution of many successful basic and applied research projects in solid state chemistry and catalysis. Cirjak has an A.B in Chemistry from Kenyon College and a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. |
