Larry J. Newsom is President, Life & Subsidiary Operations of Health Care Service Corporation. He is responsible for managing the HCSC dental line of business and Dental Network of America, Third Coast Insurance Company and HCSC’s life insurance subsidiaries - Fort Dearborn Life Insurance Company and Colorado Bankers Life Insurance Company. Mr. Newsom also serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fort Dearborn Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Newsom joined Fort Dearborn Life Insurance Company in 1971 as a Claims Adjuster. He was elected Vice President, Corporate Counsel & Secretary for FDL in 1979.
He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin, a law degree from John Marshall Law School and a MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Mr. Newsom is a Charter Life Underwriter and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute. He is a member of the American, Illinois and Chicago Bar Associations.
