Larry D. Barbour was raised in Raleigh where he attended public schools. After graduating from North Carolina State University in 1971, he started his banking career with Wachovia, ultimately being elected vice president in 1983. In 1988, he joined Triangle Bank where he served as senior vice president and market executive for the Raleigh office. He is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Banking.
Larry's civic activities include being a board member of the NCSU Board of Visitors, a board member of the Boy Scouts of America Occoneechee Council, Salvation Army board member, and Chairman of the Hospice of Wake County Capital Campaign Major Gifts Committee.
Larry has been recognized as a North Carolina State University Distinguished Alumnus (1997) and is a founding board member/treasurer of the Alice Aycock Poe Center for Health Education.
