Lance Williams is Merkle's Vice President of Database Solutions. In this role, Williams oversees research and development initiatives and leads Merkle's Knowledge Center Deployment teams in client DbM solution design and delivery. Lance also works directly with Dell, AARP, Nike, Disney and Procter & Gamble in a DbM consulting role as Executive Sponsor for these key Merkle accounts.
Lance joined Merkle in 1990 as employee number 25 and has held a variety of Senior Management roles in both Operations and Client Management ever since. For most of his career, Lance has been in a position to lead Merkle into new technologies and lines of business. He was the Chief Technology Officer and EVP of operations until 1999 and built Merkle's Data Processing, Fundraising Database, Commercial Database, and Client Management groups during that time. Most recently, he led the launch of Merkle's Commercial Markets team before returning to his "roots" in database operations and solution management. With 15 years of direct experience using data technology to drive marketing performance, Lance is a valued resource both to Merkle's clients and internal teams. His ability to balance cost, complexity, performance, and functionality in DbM solutions that deliver maximum value is considered unmatched in the industry and is constantly in demand. He was both database architect and technical lead on Merkle's first Knowledge Center deployment on behalf of Dell in 2000. Since then he has participated in the design of every Knowledge Center Merkle has put in production, including GEICO, Capital One, DIRECTV, Nike, Disney, Proctor & Gamble, and others.
Lance is a 1984 graduate of Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Prior to joining Merkle he worked in sales, specializing in technical and engineering products for firms including the HSB division of AIG, Unocal, and ITW, Inc. |
