Lana Southwick is a vice president in the Worldwide Product Solutions area. She is responsible for the application development, maintenance and production support, and technical services for Worldspan’s ticketing and core reservations portfolios, the hospitality and destinations portfolio, and the Northwest airlines portfolio. Southwick’s team is also responsible for application tuning for the middle tier and TPF complex which annually recovers millions of dollars for Worldspan. Prior to becoming a Vice President in 2002, Southwick held various Director positions within Product Development. She has been responsible for Web-based products, quality assurance, availability and fares and pricing. Through these various roles her responsibilities included developing management and project teams to provide solutions for multiple customers on multiple platforms. Southwick is an integral player in establishing Worldspan’s technical direction and continued plans for technical success. She is currently involved in establishing data privacy technology and policies for the application level, establishing Worldspan platform direction, and most importantly creating innovative products that encompass both Web-based and mainframe technologies. Prior to joining Worldspan in 1993, Southwick served as a manager in fares and pricing Product Development for PARS Service Partnership. She began her career in travel technology in 1979 as a programmer for Trans World Airlines’ Product Development department, before moving to PARS in 1985. Southwick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and data processing from Central Missouri State University. She and her husband, Tony, have a daughter, Tara. |
