Mr. Polozola focuses his practice primarily on the representation of oil and gas companies in a variety of transactional and litigation matters.In the transactional area, Mr. Polozola performs title examinations, rendering drillsite and division order title opinions for the energy industry in connection with the drilling of wells and disbursing proceeds of their production. His experience includes mineral lease, pipeline and right-of-way acquisitions, and other energy-related contract negotiations and preparations. Mr. Polozola also provides advice to corporate counsel on matters involving Louisiana mineral, property, and contract law.Mr. Polozola litigates property and energy-related disputes, including matters involving mineral royalties, mineral leases, and other general oil and gas contractual disputes. His litigation background also includes experience handling property damage and environmental claims against energy companies, contractual indemnity actions, business torts, and claims under Louisiana’s unfair trade practice laws. Mr. Polozola handles appellate matters in Louisiana courts and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.Mr. Polozola frequently speaks before professional organizations on Louisiana property and mineral law topics, and is a member of several professional landmen associations.Mr. Polozola served as a law clerk to the Honorable Catherine D. Kimball, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Louisiana, from 1996 to 1997, and in 1999. He is a former president the John M. Duhé American Inn of Court. |
