Kwabina Appiah is vice chairman and chief operating officer of Mitchell & Titus, a member firm of Ernst & Young Global. Kwabina is also a member of the Executive Committee. He is a certified public accountant in various states.
In his more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, Kwabina has served clients in the commercial, government, and not-for-profit sectors. His involvement with various audits of federal, state, and local government agencies has given him an understanding of their accounting, audit, compliance, performance, and reporting requirements. His clients have included states, cities, counties, advocacy groups, private foundations, and government departments, among others.
He has a Master of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Ghana. Kwabina is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He has served on the AICPA's Government Standards Technical Committee and was awarded its Certificate of Educational Achievement in Governmental Accounting and Auditing. He has also participated in numerous industry presentations on audit and accounting issues. |
