Mr. Davis is a Manager located in the Silicon Valley office.
He couples three years of private equity investing experience with two years of entrepreneurial experience. From 2003-2005, he founded China Sports Mobile, a mobile phone game business in Shanghai, China. He worked closely with mobile operators and service providers in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and other countries in the region.
Before venturing to China, Mr. Davis worked as an Associate at the GE APC Technology Fund (a JV between GE Equity and APC Asset Management) in Hong Kong which invested in growth stage businesses in the region.
As an Associate, he sourced, assessed, and led due diligence on deals throughout the region. He spent significant time in India, Taiwan, Japan, US, and China assessing opportunities in IT and CRM outsourcing, hardware manufacturing, mobile applications, display screen manufacturing, nanotechnology, telecommunication equipment, and internet businesses. During that time, he was the lead Associate on several successful investments including Patni Computer Systems (NYSE: PTI), New Era Electronics (listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange), and Ritek Display (a JV with GE).
Previous to GE APC, Mr. Davis lived and worked in Osaka, Japan studying Japanese and teaching English. He graduated with his MBA from Duke's Fuqua School of Business and has a B.A. in Economics from Davidson College where he was Captain of the D1 baseball team. He is also a CFA Charterholder. In his spare time, he is a diligent student of both Japanese and Chinese.
