Kurt M. Landis joined Panda as the director of feed and nutrition, where he is responsible for marketing the company's distillers' grains products, in May 2006. Mr. Landis works closely with livestock feeding operations, feed manufacturers, consulting nutritionists and university faculty to meet the nutrition needs of a diverse customer base.
From 1991 through 2006, Mr. Landis held various positions with Cargill Animal Nutrition. These responsibilities included providing nutritional consulting to feedlots and non-confined cattle feeding operations, managing relationships with feedlots and their consultants, and overseeing sales and nutrition teams. During this time, Mr. Landis gained experience with other areas of the livestock business including dairies, stocker cattle and retail feed suppliers. From 1989 to 1991, Mr. Landis was with Farr Better Feeds providing nutrition work and supplements to the feedlot industry.
Prior to his corporate experience, Mr. Landis was involved in conducting research in several areas of ruminant nutrition. As a research associate at the University of Arkansas, he was involved primarily in research on forage-based diets. At West Texas A&M University, his primary focus was on researching feedlot nutrition. Mr. Landis is the author or co-author of 27 referred scientific articles.
