Kurt joined Bratrud Middleton in July, 1989, as a Commercial Sales Specialist. He became a Vice President and Partner in 1994, and was Sales Manager and Senior Vice President from 1998-2002. On January 1, 2002, Kurt was named Executive Vice President and on January 1, 2005, he was promoted to President & COO. He is responsible for the overall operations and business affairs of the company. Kurt began his insurance career in 1986 as an underwriter with both Continental Insurance and Aetna in Seattle. Kurt has expertise in a number of areas including: manufacturing, processing, distribution, foreign and professional liability, settling business income claims, pollution, bankers’ bonds, errors and omissions, directors’ and officers’ liability, crime, and employment practices. Kurt graduated in 1985 with a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of Washington, and earned a certificate from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business in 2002. He also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) professional insurance designation and is a 1980 graduate of Bellarmine Preparatory School in Tacoma. As a Partner in the firm, Kurt is especially proud of Bratrud Middleton’s relationships with many of the finest and most respected insurance carriers in the industry, as well as its commitment to the customers in the communities Bratrud serves. On January 1, 2002, Kurt was named Executive Vice President and on January 1, 2005, he was promoted to President & COO. He took over as President & CEO on January 1, 2007. |
