While working in Manhattan from 1988 to 1995, Kristen worked as a freelance Production Manager for television commercials. She was the Production Manager for over 100 Wendy’s commercials featuring the late, Dave Thomas. In addition to Wendy’s, she has worked with many New York and Los Angeles production companies with a multitude of commercial clients. After moving to Nashville in 1995, she joined Picture Vision and headed and created their commercial division. Kristen represented various commercial directors in the Southeast and Midwest, for clients, such as, Krystal, NAPA Auto Parts, Stevens and MCI. We had a unique relationship with MCI directly, says Forrest. Rather then taking the traditional approach of going through an advertising agency, MCI contacted me directly when they were interested in one of our director’s, Michael Salomon. It started off small, with a couple of spots for 10-10-220 featuring Sawyer Brown. MCI was so thrilled with what we did, that we went on to create storyboards and scripts and produced the first two highly publicized 10-10-220 spots, featuring Toby Keith and Terry Bradshaw. In the mean time, her husband Tom Forrest started Taillight TV in 2000. It would soon become evident that Taillight TV was growing quickly and Kristen needed to be at Taillight TV. It just made sense for me to join Tom at Taillight TV, Forrest says. We had worked together for three years, so overcoming the fear of working with your husband, had already been perfected. So many of my friends, say ‘Oh, I could never work with my husband’. It’s not that way for Tom and I. We started out in the business together before we were married and we both understand what makes us tick. Currently, Kristen is producing new episodes of the thirty-minute series, Super Stacked, which features music videos for one artist and incorporates interview footage with the featured artist. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters, Page, Emma and Susan, hiking and gardening. |
