Klen P. Brooks is the vice president of flight operations for SkyWest Airlines. He is responsible for all areas of flight operations, including the airline’s flight standards, flight control and crew scheduling, and will oversee the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures to ensure the highest possible level of safety and efficiency.
Klen has been an active pilot with SkyWest Airlines for more than 30 years. Brooks’ SkyWest career began in 1972 in St. George, Utah, where he handled reservations and fueled aircraft. During the 1970’s, Klen was manager of Canyonlands Aviation, a charter flying service owned by SkyWest Airlines. He became a line pilot in 1974, and his diverse and immense flight operations experience includes instructor, check airman, chief pilot, system chief pilot and director flight operations. Brooks has served in various flight operations management positions since 1982, and has flown every aircraft type SkyWest has operated, from the single-engine Cherokee six to the three variants of the Bombardier Canadair Regional Jet in the airline’s current fleet.
Klen graduated from Dixie College Aero Technology department and served 12 years with the 222nd Field Artillery unit of the Utah National Guard.
He and his wife, Shanette, live in Dammeron Valley, Utah with their four children. |
