Klaus Kühn as been a member of the Board of Management of Bayer AG since May 1, 2002. He is responsible for Finance and represents the Europe region.
Klaus Kühn was born in Berlin on February 11, 1952. After studying mathematics and physics at the Technical University of Berlin, he joined the data processing department of Siemens AG in 1979. He transferred to Schering AG in Berlin in 1981, holding a number of positions of increasing responsibility which included a period in the United States before becoming Head of Finance in 1996. During this time he also completed an MBA course at the University of South Carolina in Columbia.
In October 1998, Kühn left Schering to work for Bayer AG in Leverkusen as Head of the Finance Department. His first major task in this position was to take responsibility for the successful stock exchange debut of Bayer’s then subsidiary Agfa. Shortly afterwards he was appointed Head of the Finance Division.
