Dr. Kirk Essenmacher joined Alvine Pharmaceuticals as Vice President of Marketing and Corporate & Strategic Development in July of 2007. Dr. Essenmacher brings experience in the commercial, strategic, and business development disciplines. Most recently, he served as head of Commercial Development for Genentech’s BioOncology Group, and as head of Operations Planning and Franchise Development, Genentech Hematology. Prior to Genentech, he was a member of Guidant Corporation’s Compass Group where he was responsible for Corporate Business Development, Corporate VC, Corporate Strategy, and M&A. Dr. Essenmacher completed Internal Medicine Residency at UCSF and is board certified in Internal Medicine. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.D. from Yale School of Medicine, and a B.A. with honors in Human Biology from Stanford University. |
