Kirk B. Skaugen is vice president of the Digital Enterprise Group and co-general manager of the Intel Server Platforms Group for Intel Corporation. In this role, Skaugen is responsible for Intel's server and workstation platforms, including the Intel® Xeon® and Intel® Itanium® processors and related platform silicon and server boards.
Previously, Skaugen was general manager of Intel Server Platforms Group Marketing, responsible for product marketing, customer applications support, and demand creation for Intel's server and workstation platforms and initiatives. Skaugen has also served as general manager of Intel Asia Pacific Solutions Group, responsible for the enablement and deployment of optimized software and solutions across Intel's client and server platform architectures. He managed Intel's relationships with end-users, independent software vendors, OS vendors, system integrators, and service providers within Asia-Pacific.
Prior to his time in Asia, Skaugen was general manager of the Enterprise Platforms & Services Division (EPSD) within Intel's Enterprise Platforms Group (EPG).
Skaugen spent several years in a variety of sales positions within Intel's sales and marketing organization, including microprocessor product management, distribution business management, and Intel's enterprise and desktop global account management for Compaq Computer Corporation.
Skaugen received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, with a further concentration in business. He joined Intel in 1992. |
