Kiran Dandekar, PhD is Vice President of Product Management at Intersect Software Corporation the premier provider of Enterprise Engineering Management solutions for the research and development and engineering workforce in large companies. He is responsible for Intersect's overall product vision and strategy, product marketing and phased development of application offerings. Prior to joining Intersect, Dr. Dandekar spent more than five years with MicroStrategy a world leader in data mining and business intelligence software applications. Initially joining the company's consulting group, he led the design and development of mission-critical business intelligence solutions for Fortune 500 customers in manufacturing, retail, transportation, banking and insurance. Dr. Dandekar also developed MicroStrategy's banking and insurance verticals and helped to define and create the company's next generation of products. Later, he ran the strategic alliances team responsible for selling Microstrategy software to OEM partners leading the design, development and marketing of several co-branded products. Dr. Dandekar has authored numerous papers and has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences. As a member of the Board at Celera Search, Dr. Dandekar plays a key role steering the development of Celeritas2, the company's data mining research and knowledge-management technology. Based on his deep domain expertise in data mining, business intelligence software applications and his experience with both software product development and product management, Mr. Dandekar works closely with Celera's Information Technology group in order to assure unrivaled functionality to end-users. His contributions are particularly valued from the standpoint of designing data mining solutions that provide meaningful information from the massive volumes of data generated by Celeritas2. Dr. Dandekar brings to bear his formidable knowledge of web based feature sets and data visualization techniques - increasing functionality for report viewing, formatting, drilling, custom search querying, to report building and design. Dr. Dandekar earned his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1995. He also has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Poona, India, and a Masters in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India. |
