Kimberly Young is an associate with the Litigation Group. Ms. Young's practice consists of a variety of personal injury and business-related matters resolved through mediation, binding arbitration, and litigation.
She has successfully represented clients in a range of matters including wrongful death claims, toxic tort actions, electrical contract cases, premises liability, tractor-trailer collisions, breach of contract disputes, the Arkansas Contractors Licensing Act, and the Arkansas Franchise Practices Act. Ms. Young has appeared as appellate counsel before the Supreme Court of Arkansas, the Arkansas Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit on a variety of issues including the constitutionality of Arkansas Tort Reform; the duty, where defined by contract, owed to a third party in a negligence action; enforcment of the Arkansas Contractors Liscensing Act; affirmance of a defense verdict in a wrongful death action; and statutory requirements of the notice to be given to owners of electrical lines when working in close proximity to such lines.
Ms. Young graduated with high honors from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law in 2003, where she was a Bowen Scholar and served as the Associate Notes Editor of the law review. She received the West Outstanding Student Award for being first in her class for the years 2001, 2002, and 2003; and the "Top Paper" Awards for Civil Procedure I, Civil Procedure II, Contracts I, Torts I, Legal Reasoning Writing & Analysis I, Legal Reasoning Writing & Analysis II, and Family Law.
