Kay M. Madati is the Vice President of Marketing at Community Connect, Inc., responsible for the overall branding, positioning and marketing, as well as defining and articulating the core member/user experience across Community Connect, Inc.’s five sites -- AsianAvenue.com, BlackPlanet.com, MiGente.com, GLEE.com and the recently launched Faithbase.com. This includes leadership/stewardship of all member acquisition and retention efforts, site programming, public relations, events, sponsorships, marketing partnerships and content/campaign deals with major brands and/or organizations/institutions. All efforts are in support of the end goal of providing members with the opportunity to interact with people of similar backgrounds and interests, finding out about the latest news in politics, culture, music, entertainment and the job market, as well as the opportunity to establish meaningful social/professional relationships. Prior to this role, Mr. Madati was the Director of Multicultural Marketing at Octagon (an InterPublic Group Company) a worldwide sports, events, entertainment and lifestyle marketing company, where he successfully started and built a new division focused on multicultural programming and marketing. Mr. Madati was integral in leading the agency, and subsequently account teams, in the development and execution of effective, engaging ethnic marketing strategies for key clients like Sprint/Nextel, Home Depot, Unilever, NASCAR, BMW, Crown Royal, and the USTA. Mr. Madati began his career at BMW of North America LLC in their management training program. He held diverse roles including Sales and Marketing Manager of the mid-Atlantic region, Relationship Marketing Manager at BMW’s Headquarters, and finally Regional Marketing & Operations Manager at BMW of North America, LLC. It was here he was responsible for leading and managing brand visibility and marketing activities in the Southern US. Over his tenure at BMW Mr. Madati had leadership roles on the new 7 Series launch, the new Z4 Roadster launch, the acclaimed BMW Films project, MINI’s US brand launch and many other forward thinking marketing projects that highlighted the innovative integration of media and entertainment. Additionally, Mr. Madati also oversaw BMW’s Group-wide multicultural marketing and diversity initiatives, promoting diversity as a core value and attribute of BMW’s marketing strategy, and executing programs and sponsorships that emphasized cultural and gender diversity while aligning BMW with various social and political organizations that hold leadership roles in the multicultural arena. |
