As editorial director of the Kiplinger Washington Editors, Kevin McCormally oversees Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine, the Kiplinger Letter, Kiplinger's Retirement Report and Kiplinger.com, among other publications.
Kevin joined Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine (then known as Changing Times) in 1977. He has written and edited articles on a wide range of investing and personal-finance issues, specializing in covering federal and state income taxes and retirement and estate planning. He continues to be a regular contributor to Kiplinger.com. For many years, he authored Kiplinger's Cut Your Taxes, an annual guide to year-round tax planning. He also heads the team of Kiplinger writers who provide expert time- and money-saving advice for TurboTax, the market-leading tax preparation software, and the TurboTax Web site.
Kevin appears frequently on national television -- including serving as a long-time contributor to Nightly Business Report -- and radio to discuss federal income taxes, retirement planning and other personal-finance issues. He has twice been honored with National Press Club Awards for Best Consumer Journalism.
Prior to joining Kiplinger's, Kevin was press secretary and legislative assistant for a member of Congress. He has also worked for newspapers in Iowa as a reporter, photographer and city editor. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Iowa. |
