Mr. Hicks joined SafeNet in 2003, and has served as General Counsel and Secretary since 2005. Mr. Hicks has had general responsibilities for the legal function at the Company, including drafting and negotiation of legal terms of contracts, representation of the Company in business combinations, legal advice in the areas of employment law, intellectual property law and other matters, assistance with public filings and oversight of litigation.
From 2000 to 2003, he served as Senior Counsel for CB Technologies, Inc. where Mr. Hicks was responsible for legal affairs of the company including creation of form contracts and a contract system for company’s software products, negotiation of significant contracts, legal advice and management of commercial and venture capital financing transactions, and management of due diligence process for acquisition activity.
From 1998 to 2000, Mr. Hicks was an associate in the corporate development department of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he assisted partners and senior associates with corporate projects, including mergers and acquisitions, representation of lenders in commercial lending transactions and representation of issuers in public and private offerings of securities.
Mr. Hicks graduated Cum Laude from Harvard Law School, has an M. Phil in Politics from Oxford University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in Political Science from Messiah College. |
