Kevin Ficco was appointed vice president Airline Distribution and Business Development for Worldspan in June 2002. In this position, Ficco is responsible for developing business strategies with Worldspan’s global airline customers designed to distribute their products and expand their market share in the most efficient manner using the Worldspan reservations system. Ficco and his team are also responsible for world-wide sales of Worldspan’s airline hosting and IT solutions. Prior to his current post, Ficco served as director Corporate Initiatives within Worldspan’s Strategic Planning group. He was responsible for adding value across all company business units by creating synergies, and identifying and implementing cost-avoidance measures and business process reengineering. Previously, Ficco was responsible for Worldspan’s travel agency accounting business unit, where he led all facets of the business, including Operations, Product Development, Sales, Training and Customer Support. Ficco also spent several years in Worldspan sales and marketing activities, with leadership roles in field sales and multi-national sales. Before joining Worldspan in 1990, Ficco served as coordinator Automation Marketing for Delta Air Lines, where he managed an operations team responsible for processing the carrier’s reservations system contracts and customer installations. He began his career in travel automation in 1984 as a customer support representative At DatasLink Business Systems. Ficco holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Applied Behavior Sciences from National Louis University and a Masters of Business Administration from Kennesaw State University. |
