Born in St. Louis, Mo., Kevin began his career as a Houston Oiler in 1991. In 1998 he became a Miami Dolphin and played the last three years of his career with the Carolina Panthers culminating in a Super Bowl appearance as starting offensive guard for the Panthers in 2003.
Leading up to the Super Bowl, Kevin became very involved with the effort to grant the with of 11-year-old Hope Stout. Stout wished to raise enough money to grant all pending wishes in Western North Carolina. Kevin was instrumental in building community support as well as the support of the Carolina Panthers. During a half-time interview in a play-off game, Kevin spoke of his friendship with Hope, her wish, the Foundation’s efforts to grant her wish and the inspiration that she provided him. Kevin retired after the 2003 season. |
