Dr. Cera received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in Swine Nutrition in 1987. His research focus was weanling pig intestinal physiology and dietary fat utilization.
Prior to beginning his doctoral graduate studies in 1982, Dr. Cera managed both commercial and seedstock swine production in Iowa and Minnesota after receiving his M.S. in Swine Nutrition from Texas Tech University in 1979.
He has authored and co-authored more than a dozen refereed scientific journal publications and has published and presented numerous research abstracts in the American Society of Animal Science Association.
Dr. Cera served on the staff at the University of Delaware until 1990 in both a Research and Cooperative Extension State Specialist role where he published several university research reports.
He entered the feed industry in 1990 and has had responsibilities in product development, research, and technical service.
Dr. Cera has been an invited speaker in the pork industry, including A.S.A.S., A.A.S.P. and the Lehman Conference. Dr. Cera joined Akey in January of 1998 as a Swine Nutritionist and is a member of A.S.A.S. , A.R.P.A.S., and A.A.S.V. |
