Kevin S. Coel is vice president and controller of Con-way Inc. (previously known as CNF Inc.) is a $4.2 billion transportation and logistics company with businesses in less-than-truckload motor carriage, truckload and brokerage services, logistics, warehousing, supply chain management and trailer manufacturing.
In this position, Mr. Coel is responsible for company wide financial controls, accounting policies and procedures, and corporate public reporting requirements.
Mr. Coel, who has served as controller since 2000, was named vice president in 2002. He previously served as assistant corporate controller, a position he held since 1995.
An executive with more than 15 years of financial accounting experience, Mr. Coel joined the CNF Inc. organization in 1990 as corporate accounting manager. In that capacity, he was responsible for the company’s financial consolidation and reporting functions including interpretation of accounting rules.
Prior to joining CNF, Mr. Coel served as a consolidations and reporting manager for Varian Associates from 1989-1990 and as an auditor for Deloitte and Touche from 1985-1989.
Mr. Coel is anative of Sunnyvale, CA, he holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Davis and an MBA from San Jose State University. Mr. Coel is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Financial Executives International. He is based at Con-way’s administrative and technology headquarters in Portland, OR. |
