Dr. Cook joined SemEquip Materials Inc. in December, 2003. Prior to joining SemEquip, he received his Ph.D from the University of Calgary under the direction of Prof. Warren E. Piers, and held a NSERC postdoctoral fellowship with Professor John F. Hartwig at Yale University. Past research areas include synthesis of early and late metal based organometallic compounds and general reactivity and catalytic behavior thereof, synthesis and reactivity of new boron based ligands, borataalkenes, and mechanistic aspects of functionalization of hydrocarbons with boron ester groups. Dr. Cook has several peer reviewed publications in leading chemistry journals, and has presented at a number of international conferences. |
