Kevin M. Murai is president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro Inc., the world's leading technology distributor. As president and COO, Murai is responsible for the overall operating performance of the company with particular emphasis on driving corporate policies, strategies and profitable growth initiatives.
Prior to his promotion to president and COO in April 2005, Murai generated outstanding business results in his previous roles as worldwide president, and as executive vice president and president of Ingram Micro North America. In 2003, Murai led the company's successful profit enhancement program, which was completed ahead of schedule and within budget, resulting in savings above the program's target. He also led the integration of the company's former U.S. and Canada regions to form the North America region in January 2002, improving operating efficiencies and leveraging the value of Ingram Micro's talent and expertise across borders.
Prior to the creation of the North America region, Murai held a series of executive positions, including president, Ingram Micro U.S., president, Ingram Micro Canada, and vice president of operations for Canada. He joined Ingram Micro in 1988.
Murai is based at the company's corporate headquarters in Santa Ana, Calif. He holds a bachelor's degree in applied science in engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. |
