Current responsibility
Kevin is a principal and consulting actuary with the Chicago office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1991.
Experience
Kevin has more than 20 years of experience in the actuarial field, including extensive experience in dealing with issues relating to defined benefit plans. His experience includes involvement in the review of actuarial valuations, assumption studies, asset/liability forecasts, benefit improvement studies, early retirement window programs, plan mergers, compliance with nondiscrimination regulations, and funding policy development. Kevin is actively involved with all aspects of servicing multiemployer plans, including the use of projection tools, issues on withdrawal liability matters, and consultation on withdrawal liability settlement proceedings. With regard to projection tools, Kevin presents projection models to Taft-Hartley fund clients to evaluate issues on such items as the plan’s minimum contribution requirements, funding policy, unfunded vested liability, and the Pension Protection Act of 2006.
Kevin's other experience includes working with public plans and single-employer plans. In the public sector, he completes actuarial valuations for several police and fire funds. He has also worked directly with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) on distress plan terminations. In addition, Kevin is familiar with dealing with various issues related to the nondiscrimination requirements of the Internal Revenue Code, including, but not limited to, general testing experience.
