Kevin Arst is a Managing Director in Ocean Tomo's Expert Services practice and acts as the administrative head of its San Francisco office. He has consulted on more than seventy engagements involving the valuation of intellectual property and the determination of economic damages in commercial litigation. While the specific issues have varied from case to case, most engagements have included an evaluation and analysis of financial data in order to support or rebut the quantification of lost profits, reasonable royalties, price erosion, unjust enrichment or diminished business value. Mr. Arst has led teams in support of counsel for all phases of the litigation process, from damages discovery assistance to trial strategy.
Mr. Arst has also provided analytical and corporate finance support to clients engaged in licensing negotiations and business transactions. In this capacity, he has performed valuations of businesses, emerging technologies, and other intellectual assets, as well as represented clients in term and pricing negotiations.
Prior to joining Ocean Tomo, Mr. Arst worked at InteCap, Inc. (now CRA International) as a consultant in its intellectual property practice area. Mr. Arst also worked as a financial analyst for Electronic Data Systems, Inc., an information technology service provider, where he analyzed new business ventures and priced technology outsourcing contracts for state and local governments.
