Kevin Oye is the vice president of systems and technology at Sycamore Networks, Inc., where he is responsible for all R&D, product, and technology direction for the company. Mr. Oye began his tenure at Sycamore as the vice president of business development, where he was responsible for acquisitions, industry partnerships, and new business ventures, such as in the successful acquisition of Sirocco Systems in 2000. Before joining Sycamore, Mr. Oye was vice president of strategy and business development at Lucent Technologies, where he played a key role in fourteen acquisitions and strategic partnerships to expand the company's market leadership position in data networking. Mr. Oye orchestrated the $24 billion acquisition of Ascend Communications, Inc., and the $246 million acquisition of Xedia. Prior to Lucent, Mr. Oye held various management positions with AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he was responsible for advanced market planning as well as development and advanced technology management for a variety of telecommunications systems. Mr. Oye is frequently invited to speak and keynote at conferences hosted by prestigious industry, business, and financial institutions. Mr. Oye has spoken and keynoted at events hosted by Business Communications Review, Harvard Business School, and Morgan Stanley, among many others. Mr. Oye completed a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
