Kevin C. Schick is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Con-way Inc. (previously known as CNF Inc.) is a $4.2 billion transportation and logistics company with businesses in less-than-truckload motor carriage, truckload and brokerage services, logistics, warehousing, supply chain management and trailer manufacturing. Mr. Schick is responsible for corporate finance, strategic planning, treasury operations, financial reporting, investor relations, taxes, internal control and administration for the parent corporation and its subsidiaries.
Named to his current position in 2005, Mr. Schick previously served as vice president and controller of Con-Way Transportation Services, Inc. (CTS), CNF’s $2.8 billion regional trucking subsidiary. He had held that position since 1989 and was responsible for overall financial reporting, planning, forecasting and analysis, capital expenditure review and planning, and administrative services for CTS’s regional carrier and supply chain business units.
Mr. Schick has more than 30 years of financial experience and is a certified public accountant. He joined the CTS organization in 1983 as a member of the startup team for Con-Way Central Express (CCX), one of CTS’s regional trucking subsidiaries. In that position, he was responsible for P&L forecasting and analysis, capital budgeting, accounts receivable collections and operations analysis.
Prior to joining Con-way, Mr. Schick spent five years with Wabash National Corporation, a trailer manufacturing concern, as its assistant controller. He had previously worked in financial planning and analysis positions for Motorola Corporation.
Mr. Schick is a native of Chicago, Ill. and holds a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and an MBA from Northwestern University. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, the Conference Board Council of CFOs, the ATA Accounting and Finance Council, and the Evans Scholars Foundation.
