Dr. Carnevale is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan and practices locally on Long Island. Dr. Carnevale graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Boston University. He received his Doctorate of Medicine from the New Jersey School of Medicine where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed an internship at the multi-specialty Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Massachusetts and his Ophthalmology Residency at The New York Hospital - Cornell Medical Center.
While in his Chief year of residency, Dr. Carnevale received the prestigious "Outstanding House-Officer" award for his skill and caring in ophthalmic surgery. During his training in vitroretinal surgery at the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Carnevale participated in several clinical trials for macular degeneration. These studies will lead to new innovations in the treatment of this blinding disorder.
Dr. Carnevale is a board certified member of numerous medical societies which include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, New York State Ophthalmology Society and the Nassau County Medical Society.
Dr. Carnevale is a partner in Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island, OCLI, consists of 22 doctors representing each subspecialty of ophthalmology in 6 locations throughout Long Island; in Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, Valley Stream, Stony Brook, Manhasset and East Meadow. |
