Kerry A. Galvin is senior vice president and general counsel of Lyondell Chemical Company. In this capacity, she is responsible for coordinating and providing legal services across all of Lyondell’s businesses.
Galvin manages the company's Legal Department and serves as the chief legal advisor to the Lyondell board of directors. She also has responsibility for managing the Government Affairs function.
Galvin joined Lyondell's Legal Department in 1990 and has been responsible for legal services associated with a number of activities, including corporate finance and securities, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to being elected to her present position in July 2000, she served as associate general counsel, with responsibility for international legal affairs, and was based in Lyondell's European headquarters.
Galvin graduated cum laude from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service degree and cum laude from the University of Michigan with a J.D. degree.
Galvin began her career in private practice in Houston, Texas, with the law firm of Mayor, Day, Caldwell and Keaton. She is a member of the Conference Board of Chief Legal Advisors, American Corporate Counsel Association, American Bar Association and Texas Bar Association. |
