Hometown: Springfield, MO
Following a couple of years at Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State University) in Springfield, Kermit came to Columbia in the mid-1970's to attend the University of Missouri. He came to work for KRCG in 1982, following three years with KCBJ-TV in Columbia (now KMIZ).
During his tenure with KRCG, Kermit has covered some of the biggest news stories in the mid-Missouri area, everything from the Great Flood of 1993 to the death of Gov. Mel Carnahan in October 2000. As the primary state government reporter for KRCG News, he has covered the administrations of seven Missouri governors. He has traveled to Central America twice to observe the MO National Guard in training and at work rebuilding roads and bridges in hurricane-devastated regions of Honduras.
In 2007, Kermit celebrates his 25th anniversary at KRCG. Few other reporters have his depth of experience in covering political and military affairs in this area.
Kermit is married and has a teenage son. |
