Kent, a licensed architect, has been with the Orren Pickell Design Group since 1996 and became a Principal in the firm in 2000. As an undergraduate, Kent received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He went on to study architecture at the University of Oklahoma where he received his Master's in Architecture. This diverse background, combined with experience in construction and business, helps as he manages the firm in all aspects of the design/build process, from the creative to the technical. In his role as Vice President Architecture and Design, Kent's primary focus is design. Kent has been involved in the design of more than 70 luxury custom homes in his time with the firm and has played an essential role in numerous concept homes and award-winning designs including several Crystal Key award winners. At the same time, Kent contributes to the management of the business side of the Design Group and has taken on a role in the management and improvement of the company as a whole. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) as well as the Association of Licensed Architects (ALA). Kent lives with his wife and two daughters in the northwest suburbs. |
