On June 1, 2005, Kent B. Foster retired from his role of chief executive officer and is currently chairman of the Board of Ingram Micro Inc. He joined Ingram Micro in March 2000, as chief executive officer and added the chairman title in 2000. He joined Ingram Micro after a 29-year career at GTE Corporation, a leading telecommunications company with one of the industry’s broadest arrays of products and services. From 1995 through 1999, he served as president of the board of GTE Corporation and was a member of GTE’s board of directors from 1992 to 1999, serving as vice chairman of the board from 1993 to 1999. In addition, he currently serves on the board of directors of Campbell Soup Co., J.C. Penney Co., Inc., and New York Life Insurance Company. |
