Mr. Biermacher, a director of the Firm, in the most senior member of the Litigation Section. His general broad trial and appellate practice and experience not only encompass personal and bodily injury defense provided on behalf of insureds and self-insured entities arising out of catastrophic injury, wrongful death, toxic and mass tort, sick building, false arrest, rape, defamation and professional negligence claims, but also encompasses the handling of a diverse range of complex commercial and business litigation matters, including partnership disputes, employment matters, issues arising out of the operations of health care facilities (including patient and premises liability claims), defense of class action suits (relating to securities, environmental, mass and toxic tort, product and other claims), complex real estate and other general business and contractual related matters, banking, securities and finance, intellectual property rights, worker's compensation and non-subscriber/employee injury claims, issues arising out of the oil patch, product liability and other matters. He also represents client interests, including but not limited to, declaratory judgments, coverage in bad faith damage actions (life, property and casualty insurance matters, including environmental, mass and toxic tort related claims, some of which have involved federal superfund sites), fraud investigations. RICO and related matters, and controversies arising in estate, trust and probate proceedings. He also handles adversary and core proceedings arising out of bankruptcy matters.
