Kenny Griffis serves on the Mississippi Court of Appeals, representing the Third District. Before being elected to the Court of Appeals in November of 2002, Kenny practiced law in Central Mississippi for more than 15 years. Kenny is a native of Meridian. He is a product of the Meridian Public Schools, Meridian Community College, the University of Mississippi and Mississippi State University - Meridian Branch. He obtained his accounting and law degrees from the University of Mississippi and is a Certified Public Accountant. Kenny has served as an officer or board member of The Mississippi Bar, the Lauderdale County Bar Association, the Jackson Young Lawyers Association, and the Hinds County Bar Association. Kenny is the past Chair of the Mississippi Bar Litigation and General Practice Section. Kenny is currently a member of the Mississippi Supreme Court’s Advisory Committee on the Rules. Kenny is a member of the Fellows of The Mississippi Bar Young Lawyers Division and the Lamar Order of the University of Mississippi School of Law. Kenny is also a member of the Federalist Society and the Christian Legal Society. Kenny and his wife, Mary Helen, have five boys. They live in Ridgeland and attend Christ United Methodist Church, where he teaches 9th Grade Sunday School. Kenny has been a Cub Scout leader and a coach for over 20 youth sports teams, including baseball, basketball, soccer, and hockey. |
