L. Kenneth (Ken) Johnson served as President of U.S. Operations for CACI International Inc., an information technology and network services company with fiscal 2004 revenue of $1.146 billion. Mr. Johnson managed the company's largest subsidiary unit, with primary operations in the federal solutions marketplace.
With more than 27 years of industry and federal market experience, Mr. Johnson played a central role in defining and leading CACI's business development initiatives, and contributes additional support to the company's accelerating mergers and acquisition program.
Under Mr. Johnson's guidance, CACI successfully focused on markets that deliver high returns and continued growth. These include managed network services and information assurance as well as IT support for the nation's Intelligence and Defense communities. He has helped strengthen CACI offerings and capabilities by playing a key role in the company's acquisition of more than a dozen firms in the last four years, including the largest in CACI's history - the purchase of the Defense and Intelligence Group of American Management Systems, Inc. in May 2004. Moreover, Mr. Johnson has been a central player in developing an active post-award sales force to take advantage of the federal government's increasing trend toward contract vehicles and task order marketing.
Before joining CACI in August 1999, Mr. Johnson was with Federal Sources, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm specializing in analysis and assessment of the federal IT industry. Prior to this, he spent seven years with Tracor Enterprise Solutions (formerly Cordant), holding senior vice president positions for new business development and federal programs before becoming President and Chief Executive Officer. In this position, he oversaw the transition of the company from a privately held entrepreneurial organization to a wholly owned subsidiary of a billion-dollar defense contractor. Mr. Johnson also held senior vice president and executive-level positions with Planning Research Corporation, Inc. (PRC), now Litton/PRC. This included directing the annual delivery of over $1 billion in bid programs. Before that, with Hadron, Inc., he served as vice president in charge of approximately 60 percent of the company's business before being promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer, where he succeeded in raising company visibility in the federal IT marketplace. A highly respected executive with broad experience in the federal information technology marketplace, Mr. Johnson was named - for the second time - to Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 list of top IT executives in May 2000. This recognition acknowledged Mr. Johnson's contributions in implementing IT solutions to improve both government and commercial business operations. He had previously been named a Federal 100 Awards winner in 1997. A 1969 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Mr. Johnson served with the U.S. Army Infantry in Vietnam as a military advisor. His military career also includes an assignment with the Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia, and serving as a company commander in Germany. |
